Dedicated Call of Duty fan, Taylor Pelling has begun a five day camping trip outside on HMV in London.

Yesterday, MCV reported that an avid Call of Duty fan had set up camp outside a HMV store in London, ready for the launch of Black Ops 2.

Taylor Pelling, a media student and “confident and mature character actor”, will be spending a total of five days camping in the run up to launch. But why?

The answer? “Game launches are a great experience. You meet great people and have a fantastic time.”

Elsewhere in the UK, Blockbuster has plans to open 450 stores for the midnight release, while GAME are set to open 319. Stores open at around 23:45 and close around an hour later. GAME advises customers to arrive at opening so that players can discuss tactics with each other.

But what about the customers who turn up five days before launch? There’s nothing on the GAME.co.uk website about what their survival bag should consist of.

“I brought with me a 2 litre bottle of water, 6 pairs of socks, a scarf, a hat, gloves, a balaclava, 2 hoodies and 6 pairs of underwear”, Taylor tells us.

The human body is said to be able to live without food for up to six weeks. It’s not recommended, but it’s totally doable if you’re a super-fan like Pelling. Luckily for him, he isn’t planning on doing that.

“All I’ve got is two tubes of Pringles and a bag of cheesy puffs!”

Admittedly, that’s not the best diet over a five day period; but thankfully, HMV has chipped in and checking to see if he’s dead or not.

“HMV have been really good. [They let] me use their facilities [and keep] buying me pizza.”

Pizza, Pringles, and Cheesy Puffs. The food of Kings. Maybe we could get some Doritos to him?

As Pelling sits in his makeshift camp-site, one has to ponder the reception from London’s passers-by.

“Commendation. They are all commending me for sitting out here! [laughs]”

As the ninth game approaches, opinions differ on which Call of Duty title deserves the most accolades. What does the guy willing to brave five nights of unforgiving British weather have to say?

“My favourite was World at War by far.”

But does he think Black Ops 2 can top 2008′s iteration?

“I don’t think it will beat World at War. However, I only loved that game more because of the period it was set. BO2 will be amazing though!”

Love it or hate it, there’s no denying all the features that go into making a Call of Duty game successful, are what keep gamers hooked year after year. What is it about Black Ops II that Pelling is most excited about?

“Zombies… arrghghghjgjssjdbdo.”

One of the biggest fears for gamers is arriving on any launch day only to be told “Sorry, we’re sold out” by an assistant who’s already stored himself five copies out-back. What would Pelling do should this happen? Pull out an AK? Maybe unleash a zombie virus and grab three friends so that he may reenact his favourite mode?

“Luckily, I pre-ordered just in case!”

Smart thinking, I’m sure you’ll agree.

Lastly, the question every CoD fan wants to know the answer to: Infinity Ward, or Treyarch?

“Treyarch all the way!”
