CD Projekt RED has confirmed that Geralt has no hard level cap in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
This news was confirmed by the community lead at CD Projekt RED, Marcin Momont, on Twitter.
@FIRTINA_1967_61 There is no level cap.

This essentially means that if you’re persistent, then you’ll be able to max out all of Geralt’s skills and abilities (cue He-Man shout “I HAVE THE POWER!”).
However, realistically very few people will have the patience to achieve this goal. The majority of experience in The Witcher 3 comes from quests, which are a finite source, and once they run dry you’ll just have to grind monster kills. The problem with this is that grinding monsters doesn’t actually give you all that much experience. If you do manage to max Geralt out, then you have my respect.
Momont’s comments on Twitter have actually caused a stir among players who want a new game plus mode to be added to the game. Allowing players to return to the game with their high level Geralt in a more difficult environment. At the time of writing, CD Projekt RED has not yet responded to these requests. However, with two massive expansions planned, there could be something along these lines coming Geralt’s way.
