Venerable Japanese Voice Actor Chikao Otsuka Passes Away


One of Japan’s most venerable voice actors, Chikao Otsuka, passed away yesterday due to heart failure. He was best known for his work in Japanese television animation and the video game industry, where he has been working in for over 65 years .

Otsuka was noted for his voice as Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Doctor Eggman and Gerald Robotnik in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Jinpachi Mishimi in the Tekken franchise, Captain Hook in the Kingdom Hearts series, and so many more iconic characters.
