Barry Burton returns in Resident Evil Revelations 2

The last time I talked about the upcoming Resident Evil Revelations 2 from Capcom, I had been able to confirm two playable characters: Claire Redfield and Moira Burton, daughter of much loved series character Barry Burton.

The latest Resident Evil Revelations 2 trailer confirms that Barry Burton, who has not made an appearance in the series for several years, will be a playable character.

Capcom has confirmed that next to Claire Redfield, Barry Burton is the second lead character. His side of the story revolves around his search for his missing daughter, Moira. Having survived the Racoon City incident, Barry is back in the field as a BSAA advisor on a remote prison island.

Claire and Moira are teaming up , while Barry joins forces with a new character, Natalia Korda. Natalia is a young girl who can sense enemies and hidden items to help Barry on his quest.

With the recent success of episodic games like The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, Capcom will be releasing Resident Evil Revelations 2 in the same fashion, as weekly digital episodes. Each episode will include Raid mode content and two playable scenarios: one for Claire/Moira, and the other for Barry/Natalia.

Each episode will cost $5.99 (£4.99) or you can opt for the Complete Season for $24.99 (£19.99). Buying the Complete Season will net you two additional spin-off episodes focusing specifically on the new characters, Moira and Natalia, as well as a new RAID mode character: Hunk.

Europe will get a full retail box set March 13, 2015 which includes all four episodes, the two spin-off episodes, Hunk, a second RAID character Albert Wesker, four alternative costumes (one for each main character), and a RAID mode Throwback Stage Pack including four stages from previous Resident Evil titles. No word on a price point yet, and no word on if this store bundle will be available anywhere outside of the European market.

Capcom made a point of confirming that all additional content will be available to purchase as a separate download.
