E3 2014: Freedom Wars – New Screens

Sony spent precious few minutes on the PS Vita during their E3 press conference. Fortunately, this collection of screens for the upcoming Vita exclusive Freedom Wars shows that they haven’t forgotten about the system entirely.

The co-op action game is set in an dystopian future where humanity is enslaved in security states known as Panopticons. Those born into the camera-laden Panopticons are charged with a prison sentence of years upon birth. Players attempt to reduce their prison sentences by clearing missions and side-quests. The premise of an oppressive security state brings Watch Dogs to mind.

If Freedom Wars seems reminiscent of God Eater there’s a good reason; God Eater developer Shift is working collaboratively with Dimps and Sony Japan Studio to bring Freedom Wars to fruition. Freedom Wars currently has no release date, but we should hear something during E3. Check back with us for more details.
