Today Square Enix dropped a new trailer for Murdered: Soul Suspect, and at 5 minutes long it’s a big one. We’ve covered the game before noting that it has an interesting premise: murdered detective Ronan O’ Conner investigates his own murder case using the help of a spirit medium called Joy We’ve also gotten some insight into why Joy might be helping Ronan in an earlier trailer.
This trailer walks through the gameplay mechanics. Ronan, although not physically able to touch or directly interact with objects or people in the world, is able to pass through walls and possess people and animals. In addition, death has enhanced Ronan’s investigative abilities into a kind of super-powered detective vision. There is a catch to being a ghost though: “Dusk” objects, lingering ghostly echoes of past events, are capable of hurting Ronan, as are soul-stealing poltergeists.
Murdered: Soul Suspect will be released for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC on June 3 (North America) and June 6 (rest of the world). In the meantime, check out the game mechanics in action in the trailer for yourself.
